Our client is a leading wholesale company in Monrovia, Liberia, specializing in sourcing and
distributing a wide range of food and supermarket products from around the world. We supply
both large supermarkets and small neighborhood markets, ensuring consistent quality,
competitive pricing, and reliable delivery.
Role Overview
We are seeking an experienced Operations & Business Manager to oversee and optimize all
aspects of daily operations. This is a leadership role reporting directly to the CEO, requiring
someone who can manage people, processes, and partners with equal strength. The successful
candidate will be responsible for finance and accounting oversight, supplier and client relations,
workforce management, logistics coordination, and overall performance of the company in
Liberia. This role is ideal for someone who is highly organized, commercially sharp, and ready to relocate
to Monrovia to take full ownership of running and scaling a major wholesale operation
Key Responsibilities
- Operations Oversight: Manage and coordinate daily company operations including
warehousing, logistics, procurement, distribution, and retail relations. - Finance & Administration: Supervise accounting, collections, budgeting, and reporting
processes to ensure financial health and compliance. - People Leadership: Direct, support, and evaluate employees across sales, logistics, and
administration. Build a performance-driven culture. - Supplier & Partner Relations: Negotiate with international suppliers, maintain strong
relations with key brands, and ensure supply chain reliability. - Client Management: Act as the primary point of contact for major supermarkets,
distributors, and wholesale clients, ensuring satisfaction and retention. - Strategic Growth: Work closely with the CEO to plan and execute initiatives for market
expansion, product portfolio growth, and operational efficiency. - Problem Solving: Resolve issues quickly and decisively, ensuring continuity of service
and product delivery. - Reporting: Deliver clear performance, sales, and operations reports to the CEO on a
regular basis.
Requirements
- Proven experience in operations management, ideally within FMCG, wholesale, or
distribution. - Strong background in accounting/finance management.
- Demonstrated leadership skills in managing teams of 50+ employees.
- Excellent negotiation and communication skills with suppliers, partners, and clients.
- Solid understanding of supply chain, warehousing, and distribution networks.
- High degree of independence, problem-solving ability, and accountability.
- Fluent in English.
- Willingness and commitment to relocate and live in Monrovia, Liberia full-time.
