Job Overview:
We are seeking a dedicated and skilled Chef de Partie to join our culinary team. The CDP is responsible for managing a specific section of the kitchen, ensuring the highest standards of food quality, hygiene, and efficiency. This role requires strong culinary skills, organization, and the ability to work independently and as part of a team in a high-pressure environment.
Key Responsibilities:
- Manage and oversee a designated kitchen station (e.g., grill, pastry, hot section, cold section)
- Prepare, cook, and present dishes according to the kitchen’s quality standards
- Maintain consistency in taste, appearance, and portioning of food
- Ensure mise en place is prepared and organized ahead of service
- Supervise and train junior staff and commis chefs in your section
- Follow all food safety, hygiene, and health standards (HACCP practices)
- Collaborate with the Sous Chef and Head Chef on menu planning, specials, and new dishes
- Monitor stock levels, minimize waste, and ensure proper storage of ingredients
- Assist with inventory control and supplier ordering if requested
- Maintain cleanliness and organization in the workstation at all times
- Ensure kitchen equipment and tools are handled with care and reported if damaged
Qualifications:
- Proven experience as a Chef de Partie or strong Commis Chef ready to step up
- Culinary degree or relevant training preferred
- In-depth knowledge of kitchen operations, techniques, and equipment
- Ability to manage time and multitask in a fast-paced environment
- Excellent communication and leadership skills
- Attention to detail, discipline, and creativity
- Familiarity with hygiene and food safety standards
- Passion for hospitality and teamwork
