Client Overview:
Our client is an international bistro, coffee shop, bakery, and pastry establishment that has been serving customers since 2016. The restaurant offers a diverse menu, including breakfast and lunch options, and is known for its friendly staff and relaxed atmosphere.
Key Responsibilities :
– Reports to duty on time with clean attire.
– Makes sure that the restaurant commis-chef reports to duty on time with clean attire.
– Effectively operates his station in the kitchen.
– Prepares a complete line of mise en place and establishes adequate par for it.
– Checks daily temperature fridge.
– Pulls all food needed for daily production and uses all leftovers with the sous-chef’s help.
– Makes sure that all food is ready on time and apply the FIFO procedure in preparing.
– Should remain in the work area at all times and inform sous-chef in case he wants to take a break.
– Plans the next days work.
– Should direct and supervise the commi’s production.
– Maintains good housekeeping for the kitchen freezers and refrigerators.
– All food under refrigeration must be properly identified, covered and dated.
– Maintains food quality in accordance with company’s recipes and procedures.
– Keeps the sous-chef informed of all information regarding the kitchen.
– Regularly reports all needed maintenance projects to the sous-chef.
– Conducts taste panels with his superiors.
– Attends employees’ meetings and comes up with suggestions on their problems.
– Attends all required trainings.
– Strictly enforces and practices clean as you go policy.
– Checks with the sous-chef prior to departure.
Qualifications:
– 2+ years of experience working in a professional kitchen environment.
– Mastery of advanced cooking techniques.
– Strong team management and leadership abilities.
– Excellent communication ( English is required) and problem-solving skills.
– Ability to work efficiently under pressure and manage time effectively.
– Knowledge of HACCP hygiene standards and food safety regulations.
– Proficiency with kitchen equipment and appliances.
